Our mission is to ensure efficiency from source to emitter. With this in mind, we engineer hydronic systems that help reduce energy and emissions, and therefore support sustainability in every step of the building life cycle. At Flamco, our engineers are passionate about innovative, mission-critical building technology systems. We pave the way for sustainable heating and thus for eco-friendly residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
In doing so, we do not forget our own role in sustainability. This is why we strive to make our own operations as clean, green and waste-free as possible, and we always keep the total life cycle of our products in mind.
While switching from heat sources that rely on fossil fuels to those that make use of renewable energies is certainly a reasonable approach, it is by no means a universal remedy. Rather, the heating system with all its components must always be considered as a whole in order to maximise the savings potential. Individual system components can be replaced with little time and expense - and they quickly pay for themselves and at the same time generate considerable energy savings and CO2 reductions.
For example, Flamco XStream air and dirt separators save up to 15 percent energy and in turn carbon dioxide (CO2) emmissions. Not only do they make central heating systems more efficient and cost-effective, they also reduce emissions of greenhouse gas.
Flamco has made donations to the UN-certified sustainable hydropower projects in Brazil. The amount is based on the CO2 savings that the sold separators realize on an annual basis for the heating systems. In this way we double the CO2 savings! In 2022 the total saving of the installed base reached more than 8.500 tonnes carbon dioxide.
At Flamco, we do everything we can to reduce the carbon footprint of our products as much as possible. That's why we carefully consider which material is the most environmentally friendly or how we can extend the life span of our products.
Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) help us measure our products’ impact on CO2 emissions during their life cycle. In this way, we are able to determine that our expansion vessels, for example, leave a 65% lower carbon footprint in their life cycle compared with what is standard in the market.
Sustainable energy is renewable energy, easy as that. Without the use of renewable energy, the building sector cannot achieve the CO2 cuts needed to meet the EU target to reduce greenhouse gas emission by at least 55% by 2030.
FlexTherm Eco is a thermal charging station that makes the energy transition possible. It converts electricity directly into heat and stores it for the provision of hot water. It is also clean and environmentally friendly because it does not burn any gases, does not contain any toxic substances, and is 100% recyclable.
Flamco has contributed to the realisation of 929,667 installations operated on renewable energy – that is in almost 3% of all such systems in Europe!
We are able to measure our entire CO2 footprint and thus are able to improve it.
We can showcase how all our energy and water efficiency solutions contribute to eco-friendly buildings.
We will reduce in & out packaging material by 20%
We only develop products and technologies with a circular design. Waste is recycled optimally.
We will annually reduce our CO2 footprint with 5%.
Annually our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions are measured for scope 1 & 2 in 100% of our entities and recorded in an emissions report. Therefore, the CO2 footprint is a useful tool to acquire knowledge about the current performance in terms of emissions of carbon dioxide. Use of this information enables specific actions to be carried out to reduce such emissions.
Flamco has been involved in the development, production and sale of high-quality components for use in HVAC systems since 1956. It is part of the stocklisted Aalberts NV, instituted in 1975. Along with Comap, which helps manage water and energy through its thermal and sanitary products that increase comfort in buildings, the Aalberts hydronic flow control business unit was constituted. Stronger together, Flamco and Comap will continue to build mission critical technologies to manage heating and cooling humanly with better financial and environmental efficacy. From source to emitter we partner with our customers to engineer seamless energy efficient hydronic systems for their building requirements.
